Yes, that’s correct! We’ve eliminated subscription fees with our NEW 10 Year* SIM card, which provides 500 MB of data. This data is estimated to last up to 10 years based on average usage of about 4 MB per month. Note that actual usage may vary, and the plan remains active until the data is fully used or the 10-year period concludes, whichever comes first.

Battery Life and Location Updates

You can see your pet’s live location anytime by opening the app and pressing 'Live Update.'

Battery Life:
Battery life depends on how frequently the device connects to cellular towers. More frequent updates will use more battery power.

If your pet leaves the 'safe zone' (geofence), you can choose how quickly you'd like to be notified:

1. 45 seconds updates | Battery life: 1-2 days
   The device will connect to cellular towers every 45 seconds and notify you within 45 seconds if your pet leaves the safe zone.
   
2. 5 minute updates | Battery life: 3-4 days
   The device will connect to cellular towers every 5 minutes and notify you within 5 minutes if your pet leaves the safe zone.
   
3. 10 minute updates | Battery life: 5-6 days
   The device will connect to cellular towers every 10 minutes and notify you within 10 minutes if your pet leaves the safe zone.

If your pet leaves the designated 'safe zone,' you’ll receive a 'Your pet has left the safe zone' notification within the selected interval.

Note:
We’ll pre-configure your device to your chosen setting, and this setting cannot be changed once shipped. Regardless of the option you select, you can always check your pet's live location in the app. The interval you choose only affects how often location data is refreshed and how much battery is used.

Alerts may arrive faster than the chosen interval. For example, if your device is set to 10-minute intervals and detects a breach 5 minutes after the last location retrieval, your notification will arrive within 5 minutes.

Apple AirTags rely on iPhone proximity to track items and need to be within about 200 feet of an iPhone to work. If your pet is outside that range or in an area without nearby iPhones, the AirTag won’t be effective. In contrast, the Roamr Tracker uses GPS and cellular technology to provide real-time location data, no matter where your pet is, without depending on nearby devices.

A microchip isn't the same as a GPS device and can't be used to track your pet’s whereabouts. It’s simply a unique identifier (think of it like your pet's social security number) that’s implanted so it can’t be lost. While microchips are an essential backup for pet identification, they should never be relied on as the primary solution for locating your pet.

The tracker attachment has an opening of 25mm x 3mm at either end for sliding the collar and buckles through. Since it's silicone, it can stretch to accommodate a slightly larger or thicker collar.
For Cat's, the tracker is best suited on medium to larger sized cats.

Please note that the LED Night Collar is intended to wear alongside/over the top of your pet's regular collar when in dark settings. Do not use the tracking device on the LED Collar, please use your regular collar.

Absolutely! Our app lets you add and manage as many pets as you'd like, with the ability to switch between profiles and share access with friends and family. Keep in mind, each pet will need its own tracker, but after that, tracking them all is a breeze!

Yes! The Roam Safe Pet Tracker is waterproof with an IPX7 water-resistant rating, meaning it can withstand getting wet—even if your pet takes a swim or gets caught in the rain. It can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes, ensuring that it keeps working no matter the conditions. While it’s designed for durability, we recommend avoiding prolonged submersion for the best performance.

Absolutely! You can use the tracker for other pets or even objects like bikes. The only thing to keep in mind is that the app is designed to set up a pet profile, so if you're okay with giving your item a name, breed, and other pet-related details, you're good to go!
